Comprehensive Plan Workshops

Comp Plan

The City Will be hosting two in-person meetings for the second set of workshops in the development of the Comprehensive Plan.  Both "data findings and analysis" workshops will be held in the Pearl Room at the Veterans Memorial Complex on Sunday, January 22, 2023, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. and Monday, January 23, 2023, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

The City of West Melbourne is currently in the process of updating the City’s Comprehensive Plan through the year 2040. The comprehensive plan lays the foundation and groundwork in planning for our community’s future growth. It establishes policies for a community’s future and reflects the community’s visioning and identity and their commitment to these policies. Throughout this process, there will be outreach to gauge community wants, concerns, and needs. This will be accomplished through a series of public workshops that will include participation activities, presentations, and surveys where participants will be asked to share additional ideas and desires for the community.

The City received a lot of positive feedback from the September 12 and September 19 visioning workshops. Over 30 residents shared their input.   The second set of workshops, originally proposed to be held on November 29, 2022, will seek input on the long-range vision of West Melbourne and in regards to land use, housing, education, transportation, infrastructure, recreation and conservation.
