NOTICE is hereby given that the City of West Melbourne, Brevard County, Florida, has called for Public Hearing(s) to be held as follows:
West Melbourne Planning and Zoning Board, June 14, 2023, 6:30 p.m., or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard in the City Council Chambers, 2285 Minton Road West Melbourne, Florida. This meeting may include the attendance of one (1) or more members of the West Melbourne City Council who may or may not participate in the Board discussions held at this public meeting.
West Melbourne City Council, June 20, 2023, at 6:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard in the Council Chamber located at 2285 Minton Road, West Melbourne, Florida. The City Council will take public comment, the Planning and Zoning Board’s recommendation and consider the following:
Consideration of proposed code amendments to delete Chapter 66, Administration in its entirety and create Chapter 64, entitled Administration and Chapter 72, Signs, to include the C-NH, C-W, IB, and GTWY-I zoning districts, specifically in Section 72-10, Temporary signs with permits required; Section 72-14, Permanent on-site signs; Section 72-15, Off-site digital signs and Section 72-18, Sign regulation summary chart.
The Planning and Zoning Board will take public comment, consider the code amendment, and make a recommendation to the City Council.
The proposed code amendments are available for public inspection at City Hall, 2240 Minton Road, West Melbourne, Florida. All persons wishing to be heard should appear in person at these hearings or send written comments to the City Clerk. All persons and parties are hereby advised that if they should decide to appeal any decision made by the City with respect to any matter considered at the public meeting or hearing described in this notice, they will need a record of the proceedings, and for such purpose, said person or party may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based (Chapter 286, Florida Statutes). In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), anyone who needs a special accommodation for this meeting should contact the City Clerk at (321) 837-7774 at least 48 hours in advance of this meeting. The public hearing may be continued to a time and date certain by announcement at this scheduled hearing without any further published notice.
